1993 Nissan 300ZX

Sold

Launching in the 1970s, Nissan transformed the Z model into a sporting model. While initial 300ZX models ran until 1989, its fantastic reputation carried over to the evolutionary extensions of the original Z line.

Externally, the 300ZX represented a bold new direction. Smooth, elegant, and less angular than its predecessor, it showcased a cohesive and contemporary design. The front and rear bumpers flowed seamlessly into the body, while subtle fender flares and a confident stance emphasised its performance capabilities. Combining stunning looks with impressive driving dynamics, the car won immediate praise from critics and maintained its acclaim throughout its production run.

Known internally as the Z32 or “Fairlady,” this is a top-tier example of Nissan's 300ZX. An all-original, European-delivered, two-owner example, this car presents itself in Ultra Red (colour code AJ4) colorway. With original 16" Z wheels wrapped in brand new Toyo tyres, the look matches the drive on this Z32.

In September 1993, it was newly delivered to a Mrs. Brauer in Germany before being sold to a Mr. Bödeker in April 2006, making this an extraordinary two-owner car. The car comes with full maintenance history, proof of ownership, and servicing. Of the 164.170 models made, it is increasingly more difficult to find original examples like this – especially with just 53.500 kilometres on the odometer. The 300ZX makes the heart race of any JDM enthusiast who played Gran Turismo in the 90s and early 2000s.

Exterior

With minimal wear and tear from normal use, the car’s ultra red finish has withstood the test of time. The Z32 is equipped with a removable targa top roof. The car’s iconic headlights were so striking that Lamborghini opted to use them on their Diablo cars from 1999 onwards. Its classic 90s silhouette and excellent paint values make the Nissan 300ZX's sterling reputation easy to understand. The original wheels are newly restored, sandblasted and painted, and wrapped in brand new Toyo tyres. Because who in their right mind would put European tyres on a JDM car?

Interior

The interior is lined with black leather throughout. The buttons and dash remain in excellent condition, and the steering wheel has been reupholstered. The car comes with its original radio, and all electronics are fully functional. Its display and climate control are also fully functional, as is the unit itself. Overall, the 300ZX shows very little wear and tear, and the interior is in above-average condition. The power seats, power windows, and cruise control are as good as it gets. Finally, there’s a leather boot for the desirable manual transmission, which of course, is compulsory in a car like the Z32.

Mechanics

Powered by the breathtaking VG30DTT engine, a 3-liter V6 Twin Turbo monster, with the desirable 5-speed manual transmission, the 300ZX delivers around 280 horsepower. It’s also equipped with high capacity actively controlled steering, (HICAS), a four-wheel steering system that improved handling by turning the rear wheels slightly to enhance manoeuvrability and stability at speed. HICAS operated hydraulically in earlier models (1990-93) and electronically in later ones (1994 onwards), steering the rear wheels in-phase at low speeds for tighter turns and out-of-phase at higher speeds for stability.

The engine was serviced at the Classic Car House at 53.500 km. This included a new cam belt, where the car was also checked and dyno tested. The service book is stamped from the first owner, and records date right up to its current mileage. This Z32 comes with Classic Car House Certification with a deep dive of its condition, including compression test, mechanical and cosmetic values, and more.

Summary

With just two owners and low mileage, this is an extremely rare find. The 300ZX is an iconic and often overlooked sports car. Its drives and thrills are becoming increasingly more difficult to find, making this a highly sought-after car.
